Adding FAQs to Your Clone
Teach your AI clone to answer questions about your brand that aren't in your Instagram posts — pricing, courses, booking, and anything else your followers ask repeatedly.
What Are FAQs?
Your clone already knows everything from your Instagram content — your posts, captions, and video transcripts. But there's plenty your followers ask about that isn't in a reel: course pricing, how to book a call, what's included in your membership, your return policy, etc.
The FAQ field is a free-text knowledge base you can fill with anything you want your clone to know. Think of it as giving your AI a cheat sheet on your business.
Example:
Follower: "How much is your course?"
Your clone (without FAQs): "I don't have that information."
Your clone (with FAQs): "My 6-week content creation course is $297. It includes live Q&As and lifetime access. You can enroll at [link]!"
How to Add FAQs
Step 1: Open Clone Settings
From your dashboard, tap the hamburger menu (☰) in the top right corner, then select Clone Settings.
Step 2: Scroll to "Add FAQs"
In Clone Settings, scroll down to the Add FAQs section and open it.
Step 3: Write or Paste Your FAQ Content
Type directly into the text area, or paste in pre-written content. There's a 3,000 character limit, so keep it focused on what your followers actually ask.
💡 Pro tip: Use AI to write your FAQs in 60 seconds
- Copy the text from your website (About page, pricing page, course sales page, etc.)
- Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT with this prompt: "Turn this into a set of Q&As for an AI chatbot. Keep it concise."
- Copy the output and paste it into the FAQ field in Lightwell.
Step 4: Save Changes
Click Save Changes. Your clone will sync the new content in about 5–10 minutes. After that, it will start using the FAQ content when answering questions.
What to Put in Your FAQs
Good FAQ content to add:
- Pricing: Course prices, coaching packages, membership tiers
- Offers: What's included in your products or services
- Booking: How to schedule a call or consultation
- Links: Where to buy, enroll, or sign up
- Brand story: Background info your followers may not know from your posts
- Common questions: The things you answer in DMs over and over
⚠️ Don't add affiliate product info here. Product links should be uploaded as affiliate links (via the CSV upload) so the AI can match them to your posts. FAQs are for brand and business information that doesn't live in your Instagram content.
Testing Your FAQs
After saving, wait 5–10 minutes and then open your own clone chat and ask a question you added to the FAQs. If it answers correctly, you're all set. If not, try making the FAQ content more explicit — spell out the question and answer clearly rather than writing it as prose.
