How to request deletion of your LightwellChat account and associated Instagram data
Your Data Rights
At Lightwell, we respect your privacy and your right to control your data. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how to delete your data and what happens during the process.
What Data We Store
When you connect your Instagram Business account to LightwellChat, we collect and store:
- Instagram Business account profile information (username, profile picture)
- Your Instagram posts (images, videos, captions, timestamps)
- Post engagement metrics (likes, comments, views)
- Video transcriptions generated by our AI
- Affiliate links you've uploaded
- Product matching data and search indexes
- Chatbot configuration and conversation logs
How to Delete Your Data
Method 1: Through Your Dashboard (Recommended)
- Sign in to your Lightwell account
- Navigate to Settings (click your username in top right)
- Scroll to "Danger Zone" at the bottom of the page
- Click "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion by typing your username
- Click "Delete My Account Permanently"
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access your account, send an email to:
customer-support@lightwellchat.com
Include in your email:
- Your Instagram username
- Email address associated with your account (if applicable)
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
We will respond within 48 hours and complete deletion within 7 business days.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- All Instagram content (posts, videos, images) stored in our systems
- Video transcriptions and AI-generated data
- Affiliate links and product matching data
- FAISS search indexes and RAG data
- Chatbot configuration and conversation history
- Your account profile and authentication tokens
- Any active Stripe subscriptions (automatically canceled)
⚠️ Important:
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to export any data you wish to keep before deleting your account.
